Welcome to the website of The Lutheran Church of the Galilean, a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

We are a multi-racial family that is open to all people who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  Our Lutheran theology is based on a simple concept that we are saved from our sins by God’s free grace through our faith.  The word of God, the sacrament of baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the center of our worship as the people of God.

Jesus, in the Gospel of John, told 2 new disciples to come and see and we invite you to do the same, come and see and take some time out of your busy schedule to refresh your spirit with God’s free grace.

We offer Bible study prior to worship each Sunday for adults and young people.  Adult Bible studies are also scheduled on specific Wednesday nights during the month.  Classes are scheduled as needed for those who would like to learn about our Lutheran beliefs.  There is never any pressure to join so come and see.

There is an interesting piece “Helping Our Children Worship” written by Rev. Ron Unger, a former pastor. We at the Galilean believe the future of our faith in this place is found in our children.

Located in the section entitled “Mission Partners” are congregations through out the country who are helping us to maintain a Lutheran presence in LaPlace.

As time permits, please review the other sections of the website.   If you have any questions for me please see the section “Contact the Pastor”.

I look forward to you coming and visiting us.
